The 1st DVD touches on the basic techniques and mechanics of proper voice production with a few references here and there to screaming, but volume 2 gets down to the nitty gritty. Excellent. Make sure you have the first one though, since some of the scream techniques taught might be hard to follow without learning the basics from the 1st DVD.
This sequel delves into the production of the different screams: how they are technically produced, including a valuable discussion of the possible risks if they are incorrectly produced. All of the info is grounded in the science of the voice and is very solid and clear. There are plenty of examples from metal singers to help with recognizing the correctly produced scream along with Melissa’s step by step instruction for the viewer. This dvd is a must for any teacher branching out to styles of music where a healthy scream is required.
